TYPICA GUIDE introduces you to people who roast such delicious coffees. Behind every cup of coffee is the effort of countless people working in the farms. Roasters have a vital role to play; they are the last ones in the chain to pass the baton of deliciousness to the coffee drinker. We decided to launch TYPICA GUIDE to shine a light on their work and connect them with as many coffee drinkers as possible.

TYPICA GUIDE is not created by anonymous inspectors, but by a worldwide community of coffee lovers, including coffee producers, roasters, and consumers.

TYPICA GUIDE invites you to a world of new possibilities that opens up when you discover a truly delicious coffee.

TYPICA GUIDE Final Round at EXPO 2025

This year, TYPICA will host OKAGESAMA COFFEE EXPO 2025 at the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan, an event where visitors can experience the sustainability vision TYPICA is working to realize. As part of the program, we will also hold TYPICA GUIDE 2025 at the venue.

For this year’s TYPICA GUIDE, nominated TYPICA-Starred Roasters will each host a booth within the Expo grounds to serve coffee to visitors! We hope this will be a special two-day opportunity for roasters to connect with coffee lovers from Japan and around the world, on one of the most anticipated stages in the global spotlight.

How it works

1-Star Roaster

1-Star Roasters are recommended by TYPICA’s community managers based on a comprehensive review of factors such as alignment with TYPICA’s vision and purchase history.

2-Star Roaster

From among the 1-Star Roasters, candidates submit a presentation video and coffee beans for further evaluation. Coffee professionals within TYPICA then select the 2-Star Roasters, with the QC team verifying the quality of the coffee.

This year, we are expanding the number of recommendations to shine a spotlight on more roasters. From each region, at least one roaster will be recommended, and every roaster deemed worthy of 2-Stars will be included.

Final Round

To be announced on September 28, 2025 at WASSE (EXPO Exhibition Center) at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan

On Sunday, September 28, 2025, during OKAGESAMA COFFEE EXPO 2025,
we will hold the Final Round of TYPICA GUIDE.

2-Star Roasters will take the stage for presentations and brewing demonstrations,
after which Special Guests and event attendees will decide which roaster to recommend as a 3-Star Roaster.

Our Special Guests include coffee enthusiasts from across a range of fields, as well as coffee producers.
Recommendations will be based on the following criteria: vision, original inspiration, passion, joy, sustainability, growth potential, and sincerity.
